Wonderfully, 584 Nha Trang Seaproduct Joint Stock Company has successfully produced high protein product - 600 N fish sauce through natural siphoning process. This succeed has helped the Company to become one of the top fish sauce producers in Vietnam.

584 Nha Trang SeaProduct Joint Stock Company was formerly a State-owned enterprise (SOE) under the supervisor of the Ministry of Fisheries, which was responsible for supplying fish sauce in local. At that time, because the operation was under the subsidy period, the Company brand name and products was not impressed much by the consumers. In addition to that, due to limitations in infrastructure, factories and backward equipment, together with the inefficiency in business activities for such a long time, the companies had encountered many difficulties.

In 1990, as the economy had shifted to market mechanism, the Company has more proactiveness in its own activities and started to witness better changes. In this period, the main products of the Company were fish sauce 12-150 N, which was not special enough to convince consumers. In order to deal with the obstacle, the Management Board pointed out that if they did not make a breakthrough, they could not compete with producers from other famous fish-sauce-making regions such as Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet or Hai Phong. Thus, the Company decided to invest in upgrading production premises and equipment as well as improving product quality, package design and diversifying product range. In addition to that, promotion and market expanding activities were also in Management Board’s concerns. With all the efforts, the business gradually stabilised and developed.

In 2006, as Vietnamese Government encouraged SOEs to make innovation, the Company was equitized. Thank to this change, the business operations witnessed many strong improvements. The infrastructure was strengthened; more workers are recruited, management operations were focused. Especially, developing market, improving trade mark and completing product portfolio were on the top list in order to meet the growing demand of consumers. Being invested synchronously, the Company at that moment could handle 10,000 tons of materials each year and production capacity could reach 10 million liters, which was accounted for 1/3 of the total fish sauce produced in Khanh Hoa province. Moreover, by successfully producing high protein product - 600 N fish sauce through natural siphoning process, the Company has become one of the top fish sauce producers in Vietnam. Up to now, the Company product portfolio contains up to 30 types of fish sauce from 12~600 N bottled from 50ml to 5 liters. The Company’s high protein fish sauce has won many awards and titles such as the “High Quality Vietnamese Goods” title in many years (from 2000 to 2014); Golden Quality at Khanh Hoa Tourism – Trade – Fisheries Fair (2002); Golden Cup at the Tay Nguyen Festival and Fair (2005); Golden Star of South Central and Highlands, Vietnam Golden Star (2011, 2013). The Company was also one among the only two fish sauce producers that won the certification of food hygiene and safety certificated by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (belong to Department of Health). Especially, the Company has been granted a certificate of quality management system ISO 22000:2005 and also is certified as eligible for export. For all of the above reasons, the Company has grown strong enough to compete with domestic or even foreign producers.

Currently, the Company's products are available in most provinces. In particular, high-protein products are sold at high-end supermarket systems such as Maximark, Vinatex, Citimark, Coopmark, Saigon Supermarket and Hanoi Supermarket... Despite just a small number of exporting products, the Company brandname still made some noise in Japan, Korea, Australia, Cambodia and Laos… In the next coming time, Asian market is the target market in the development strategy of the Company.

With more than 30 experience years of producing fish sauce, 584 Nha Trang products have created many differences comparing to other fish sauce makers. Inheriting the traditional process of making fish sauce in Nha Trang sea waters as well as trying to combine with new method, the Company has created such fish sauce which is characteristic for Eastern Asia Region. To make this, beside many factors like technique, temperature, water…, materials is considered as the key one. As same as Phu Quoc or Phan Thiet, fish sauce made from anchovy caught in local sea water will have its own characteristic flavor. Currently, high protein fish sauce is made from the very first extract of the 1-3 years old fermented anchovies. In order to avoid counterfeits and knockoffs, all of stages from producing to bottling and packing will be conducted at the Company’s factories.

All recent achievements are thanked to the continuous efforts of the whole Company. The Company always encourages employees to improve skills and knowledge. Yearly, there are a lot of training courses, team-building activities being hold for workers in order to improve their standard of working and living. Through Work Union and Youth Union, many ideas, innovations and competitions have been raised helping to promote labor productivity and business performance of the Company. The annual business growth is about 15-17%. And up to now, the Company has offered jobs for more than 200 workers with average salary from 5 million VND per month.
